Friday, 7/22 at 11:30am at the Cambridge Market Cafe, 217 W. Main St. in Cambridge, WI, where we will meet for lunch before heading out on our first ride of the weekend. There is a bike shop next door for any unexpected last-minute needs. Here is our day-by-day itinerary for the weekend ...
Friday, July 22nd
Plan to leave Chicago to arrive at the Cambridge Market Cafe, 217 W. Main St. in Cambridge, WI. by 11:30 a.m. where we will meet for lunch before heading out on our first ride of the weekend. We will leave on the 32 mile ride from our lunch stop at about 1 p.m. It's a mostly flat route that will be a perfect warm-up for the weekend.

After the ride, we will head to the hotel to check in and relax. We will meet in the lobby at 6:30 p.m. to car pool to dinner at Everly, 2701 Monroe St, Madison, WI 53711. Everly is known for their inventive, Californian-style cuisine. Our reservation for dinner is at 7 p.m.
Saturday, July 23rd
Today is our big ride of the weekend - a metric century to New Glarus and back!
A free continental breakfast is available at the hotel starting at 7 a.m. We will begin to assemble at 8 a.m. in the parking lot of the hotel. A pump will be available to top off the air in your tires before we head out on our featured ride -- a metric century to New Glarus! New Glarus is a charming Swiss town oozing with quaintness -- it's definitely worth spending some time walking around to look at the varied shops near our lunch spot. We will meet up at 12 noon for lunch at Toffler's Pub & Grill, 200 5th Ave, New Glarus, WI 53574 for a hearty lunch and a pint. We will meet in back on their outdoor patio. We highly recommend you bring a good bike lock.
After lunch we will head back to Middleton.

We will meet in the hotel lobby at 6:30 p.m. and carpool to "Willy St" for dinner at Eldorado Grill, 744 Williamson St, Madison, WI 53704. Eldorado Grill is a past favorite and has great margaritas and delicious Southwestern cuisine. We will have drinks at 7 p.m. and sit down for dinner at 7:30 p.m.
After dinner, there are a lot of options for nightlife: a walk to Menona Terrace and views of Lake Menona and the Capital is very nice. Or a walk down State St, a pedestrian mall at the base of the Wisconsin State Capital is also very nice. There is also one gay bar in the area, Woofs, a bear/leather bar that is very welcoming to all. So no shortage of things to do to enjoy Saturday night in Madison.
Sunday, July 24th
This morning we are going to "switch gears" -- pun intended. After breakfast, we will assemble in the parking lot at 8:15 a.m. to take a group photo and head out on our last ride -- a very special, custom ride by our long term member and Madison resident, Steve Cain. I credit Steve with introducing me to biking in Madison and I have been hooked ever since! Steve is a delightful ride leader and guide who will lead us on a memorable tour of some of his favorite spots in Madison. You won't want to miss it! We will return to the hotel around 11:30 a.m. to shower, finish packing and check out. For those interested in one last meal together before heading back to Chicago, we will meet at around 12:30 p.m. at the Craftsman Table & Tap, 6712 Frank Lloyd Wright Ave, Middleton, WI 53562 for brunch/lunch, about 5 minutes from the hotel.

Hotel Information
We are staying at the Country Inn & Suites West in Middleton, WI again. The hotel has offered us a discounted rate of $119 per night if you book by June 30th as long as rooms are available. Just call the hotel at (608) 831-6970 and tell them you would like the block rate for the Windy City Cycling Club.

Last Minute Details
Please bring a good bike lock for times when we stop for lunch.
The ride on Saturday is challenging and a good base of miles will help you enjoy it more.
We assume all registered riders will be participating in dinner on Friday and Saturday. If you are not joining us for dinner on Friday or Saturday or if you are bringing a guest, please let Jeff or Mark know so we can adjust the reservation accordingly with the restaurant.
